Visiting during the festive season

>Due to Covid-19, visiting is currently restricted in our hospitals. Read more here.

In line with the government guidelines over Christmas, and to enable our patients to spend time with loved ones at this time, our visiting restrictions will be adjusted for Christmas Day only.

On this day, up to two visitors from the same household may visit patients in our wards by appointment only, for one hour.

Please note: You must not attend our hospitals if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 and visiting to patients with Covid is unfortunately not allowed.

To arrange a visit over Christmas Day, please call the ward in advance to book an appointment so we can manage numbers of visitors on the wards. You must follow our strict infection prevention rules when you're here to help us protect our staff, patients and their families:

  • wear a face covering or appropriate PPE for the ward – we will help you with this
  • adhere to social distancing
  • wash your hands use the gel stations provided
  • abide by national restrictions regarding movement across tiers

At St Mary's Maternity Unit we regret that visiting is still not permitted on inpatient areas and apologise for the inconvenience.

You can read our full visitor guidance here.

Thanks for your understanding and support.

In this video, deputy chief nursing officer, Fiona Hoskins, explains our temporary relaxation of visiting guidance that applies to Christmas Day only.
