Update on our hospitals

We know that members of the public have been worried about coming to our hospitals for their care during this next phase of the Covid-19 pandemic. We would like to reassure you that the safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff are the key concerns of our Trust.

We have strict infection prevention and control policies. For managing Covid, our hospitals have been split into areas and wards for non-Covid and Covid positive patients.

All of our elective patients coming in for a planned procedure are kept in 'green wards' and have to be tested for Covid before they come into our hospitals. Many patients have been waiting for a long time for their procedures, so our hospitals will do all that we can to ensure you can receive the care you need. We will not admit any patient who had a negative Covid swab into a ward with Covid patients.

If you have any concerns about your treatment, please do contact the number on your appointment letter.

Thank you for your support at this time.

Professor Paula Shobbrook, chief nursing officer/director of infection prevention and control

Dr Alyson O'Donnell, chief medical officer
