About Miss Lwin

Miss. Lwin is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon with extensive training in all aspects of maxillofacial surgery. Her subspecialty interest areas are corrective facial deformity surgery, maxillofacial trauma surgery, benign salivary gland surgery, obstructive sleep apnoea surgery, adult/ paediatric dento-alveolar surgery and surgical management of skin cancers of the Head & Neck.

She is dually qualified in both dentistry and medicine from the University of Glasgow and University of Birmingham, obtaining academic awards and prizes. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh, and has authored several research publications. She completed her general surgical training in the Oxford rotation and higher surgical specialist training in the Regional Centre Liverpool and Oxford. She is certified to perform all aspects of corrective facial deformity, maxillofacial trauma surgery, benign salivary gland surgery, TMJ surgery, obstructive sleep apnoea surgery, surgical treatment of skin cancers of the head and neck, adult and paediatric dentoalveolar surgery.

She is most passionate about delivery of excellence in clinical care and routinely audits her surgical outcome, consistently achieves above national average results. She is the department’s Clinical Governance Lead and Chair of Dorset Orthognathic Audit Group.

She is also an exam question writer for OMFS (FRCS) examinations and a committee member of British Association of Oral &  Maxillofacial Surgery ‘Quality Outcome Measures’ in surgery national project.
