Hospital Palliative Care Teams

The Royal Bournemouth Hospital

There are seven specialist palliative care nurses and two nurse specialists in end of life care based at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital (RBH) - some of them work part time. Referrals to the team will be assessed and the patient being referred will be seen within 48 hours. The team works closely with the team at the Macmillan Unit, as well as with other professionals at RBH.

The RBH Palliative Care Team is available 7 days a week (including bank holidays) from 8am-4pm and can be contacted on 0300 019 6021. A member of the team is available at weekends and bank holidays.

Poole  Hospital

There are three hospital specialist palliative care nurses (some part time) and a facilitator in end-of-life care who are based at Forest Holme. They visit people within Poole and Alderney Hospitals.

The team is available from Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm.
