Dr Katharine Fairbairn

Dr Katharine Fairbairn graduated from St Georges, University of London in 2009 before completing foundation and core training in Kent and London.

She moved to the Wessex Deanery for registrar training in Rehabilitation Medicine which included a year as RCP Chief Registrar in Poole in 2017-18. Her training included a fellowship in Stroke Medicine at Southampton and Bournemouth Hospitals. She joined University Hospitals Dorset as a Consultant in Stroke & Rehabilitation Medicine in January 2021.

Her role encompasses hyperacute and acute stroke across both sites as well as responsibility for complex neuro-rehabilitation patients on Portland ward at Poole Hospital. She has a special interest in spasticity and is responsible for the Spasticity service at Poole as well as providing fortnightly Disability clinics for adults with long-term neurological conditions.
