Ben studied medicine at Guy's, King's and St. Thomas's Hospitals in London, qualifying in 2002. He undertook basic surgical training in Plymouth and worked as an ED doctor in Sydney. His anaesthetic training commenced in Truro, before moving to the South East London rotation as a registrar. He spent a year in Perth, Western Australia as a Simulation and Education Fellow. He was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital in 2015 with special interests in major general and regional anaesthesia.
