A Consultant Anaesthetist since 1998, with employment in Australia and Nottingham prior to his recent move to Bournemouth. He qualified in Nottingham (1986) and undertook specialist anaesthesia training in the East Midlands - with particular time spent at the Sheffield Vascular Institute and the Trent Cardiac Centre. His current NHS position at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital was preceded with 14 years at University Hospital, Nottingham; with significant vascular interests as well as a Lead Clinician role for the Day Surgery Unit at Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre.
John often uses regional (ultrasound guided) techniques to aid pain relief and enhance recovery and has an interest in Medical leadership focusing on high quality care.
