What people can be referred for
Congenital limb deficiency - from missing limbs on antenatal scans, to babies and children, through to old age.
Acquired amputation of all ages – e.g. due to vascular disease, diabetes, infection, trauma, tumours and rare causes. Referral both before or after amputation.
Why I chose my specialties
True multidisciplinary teamwork involving all disciplines with biomechanical approach and crossing multiple specialties to achieve optimal outcome for amputees requiring not only standard NHS clinicians, but prosthetists and workshop technicians.
