About Dr August
Dr Suzannah August consults on skin, hair and nail disorders for both children and adults, including the surgical and non-surgical management skin cancer. She runs a dedicated paediatric dermatology service for children with skin disease.
Dr August regularly gives lectures and case-based teaching on clinical dermatology to doctors and nurses in both primary and secondary care. She has worked in research posts at the University of Southampton, St Mary’s Hospital Portsmouth and the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, studying areas such as the role of the immune system in skin cancer, the effects of UV radiation on the skin and new treatments for skin conditions such as psoriasis, hand dermatitis and actinic keratosis.
Dr August is Lead for dermatology research at Poole Hospital and is the principal investigator for clinical trials and observational studies investigating inflammatory skin diseases.
