dr neil de zoysa

Mr Neil De Zoysa is a consultant ear, nose and throat and thyroid surgeon who began working in Dorset in July 2017 at Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset County hospitals. He is a core member of both the head & neck and the thyroid multidisciplinary team. He has a wide range of specialist skills and expertise in both adult and paediatric ENT surgery.

He completed his undergraduate medical education with honours at UCL, and went on to complete a Master’s degree at Imperial College London here he was awarded a Distinction and the Dean's prize for his work in surgical technology and robotics.

Neil completed his higher specialist training in London at Guys Hospital, St George's Hospital and the Evelina Hospital for Children and the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children. Neil has also gained cross-speciality experience in Plastic and reconstructive surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery at Castle Hill Hospital, in Yorkshire, as part of the Training Interface Group (TIG) program. This has allowed him to train in techniques employed in allied specialities and tailor them to his patients in ENT.

He has undertaken International Fellowship level training in head & neck and skull base surgery including the prestigious Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia. He has a special interest in the treatment of sinus disease, head, neck and thyroid cancer, sleep apnoea and voice box/swallowing problems.

Neil has an active interest in the training of surgical registrars and core trainees and plays an active role in the career development of future consultants.
