About Dr Sandell
Dr Sandell has extensive knowledge and experience of General Paediatrics, Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Safeguarding Children. Nationally, he advises the UK Ambulance Service, co-authored their Paediatric Clinical Practice Guidelines and developed the SandellTape Paediatric Emergency Chart (which has become the national template for paramedic practices in the UK). He has recently published articles in the Journal of Pre-Hospital and Disaster Medicine, Trauma, the Archives of Disease in Childhood, the Emergency Medical Journal and the British Medical Journal. He has written textbook chapters for Oxford University Press and BMJ Publishing and he contributed to the Department of Health's 'Spotting the Sick Child' DVD project. He has spoken at medical conferences both in the UK and internationally (including the 2009 RCGP Conference in Bournemouth). He is a Poole’s Advanced Paediatric Life Support courses director and also teaches locally on the VTS trainee course.
