Cancellation of services

In our response to wave 3 of the COVID-19 pandemic and in light of the surge in number cases in BCP, UHD has reluctantly taken the decision to cancel routine elective surgery, procedures and some outpatient clinics. This is in line with most of the country, and has been necessary to do so to release our clinical teams and support staff to support our very busy wards and critical care units. Where possible, outpatient appointments will be held virtually rather than face to face. Cancellations are expected over the next two weeks and this will be reviewed weekly to assess if and when it is possible to restart our routine services.  Many diagnostic services plan to continue although there may be a reduction in service during this period.  

UHD aims to maintain urgent and cancer surgery where it is safe to do so, each patient case is risk assessed by the consultant before proceeding.
