RBH spur road approved

BCP Council has granted planning permission (18 April) for the spur road into our Royal Bournemouth hospital site. This is part of the wider Wessex Fields development project and the first phase in the development of a future spine road (site plan pictured).

Commenting on the news, Steve Killen, UHD transformation director, said:

"We are pleased with this news, the road will take staff traffic volumes away from Deansleigh Road junction with Castle Lane East and is part of Royal Bournemouth’s development as the major emergency care site for the region.

"It will also improve access to the site for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as enhancing local highway network resilience."

Work on the access road is planned to start in May with the aim of being completed by the end of 2023.
