CQC inspection of our emergency services

The CQC today publishes results of their inspection in June of our emergency services at Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth Hospital. The CQC has shared their findings with us and we look forward to welcoming them back to show them further improvements. We were not rated from this inspection, so keep our previous ratings.

Professor Paula Shobbrook, UHD chief nursing officer, said: “We welcomed the CQC inspection of our emergency services and have taken immediate action in response to their feedback. I was pleased that the CQC reported that staff were kind and caring, and that patients and families they spoke with were all happy with the care and compassion they had received.  The CQC noted the long-standing national issues with access and flow through the whole health and care pathway and we recognise the impact for patients and staff in our emergency departments.  We will continue to work with our teams and colleagues across Dorset to deliver improvements, so that we can provide consistency in the of quality of care.
