Staff Bulletin 23 April 2021
Welcoming back our returning volunteers
While our much-valued volunteers are still unable to help on wards, they are active around the trust in a range of supporting roles.
To support their safe return, a process is now in place that must be followed, which includes training.
If you are contacted directly by a volunteer please do not agree for your volunteer to return without contacting This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (RBCH) or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (Poole).
If you have any non-clinical roles that volunteers can help with in a Covid-secure area please use the same details to contact us and we can look to provide additional support. Volunteer shifts are 8-11am, 11am-2pm, and 2-5pm.
Roles do not replace any paid staff duties, but volunteers can support with the following examples:
- some clerical duties, eg shredding, filing, making up packs, photocopying
- marshalling or wayfinding for clinics, ensuring patients get to their appointment on time
- collecting relatives/partners from separate waiting areas to join patients for their appointments
- High touch point cleaning to maintain safety, e.g. chairs, desks, door handles.
RBH: Reminder - extra spaces available at the Littledown
Extra designated car parking spaces are now available at the Littledown Centre. We are offering these to non-clinical staff only so we can free up car parking space on site for staff dealing directly with patients and visitors. Read more here.
