Last weekend vaccination clinic this Saturday

The final 'Super Saturday' Covid-19 and flu vaccination clinics take place at Poole Hospital on Saturday (29 October) in the outpatients department. You can either simply drop-in (make sure you bring your ID) or book a slot online to guarantee your vaccination. Parking is free. Further clinic dates are being planned for November – details will be announced in the bulletin shortly.

If you can't make our UHD clinics, NHS staff registered with a GP can book the Covid booster - or any of the preceding doses – for free via the national Covid-19 vaccination booking portal here, or search 'NHS Covid vaccinations' online. Please contact your GP practice to find out if you are also able to have your flu vaccination there, also free for NHS staff. Find out more on the intranet.

Had your jabs elsewhere? Please tell us using this simple form.

New emergency pager launch

Next week our emergency pagers will be replaced. Our current system is over 30 years old, and the new system will give us more resilience.

At the same time as replacing our pagers, we are bringing in standard calls across UHD for 2222 (medical, fire, and security) at the acute hospital sites, joining the 5555 (major haemorrhage) which is already operational. You don't need to do anything at the moment. Here's a 1 minute video to find out more.

Have your say with the 2022 NHS Staff Survey

"The staff survey is a critical tool for measuring the health of our hospitals and our team. Staff are the best placed to identify areas for improving the care we deliver to our patients."

- Dr Jonathan Marks, consultant in rheumatology and clinical director for outpatient services

The NHS Staff Survey is a chance for every staff member at UHD to speak up and spark change. Look out for your personal invitation to join the conversation from This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by post.

MP learns about hospital challenges first hand

Sir Robert Syms MP toured Poole Hospital's ED on Friday, gaining an insight into some of the operational pressures UHD, and the wider NHS, faces. Sir Robert spent an hour being shown around the department and discussing the challenges of maintaining good patient flow from attendance to discharge, and its impact on the ambulance service. He was also briefed on wider NHS recruitment challenges, and was given the latest updates on our major clinical service reconfiguration across our hospitals. Sir Robert was welcomed by Richard Renaut, chief strategy and transformation officer, Rob Whiteman, UHD chairman, and Bruce Hopkins, senior matron for urgent and emergency care.
