Reminder of Covid-19 guidance changes
As Covid-19 cases locally and nationally continue to fall, the guidance for face masks and coverings has now been updated. They are now only required to be worn by staff in:
- clinical areas including waiting areas
- hospital corridors and communal areas including entrances
- areas in which there is a reasonable expectation of coming into contact with patients
Prior to changes being made in the workplace please ensure all team members are consulted and this updated COSHH assessment is reviewed.
Find out more in the latest news on the intranet.
Patient transport – important changes
E-zec (Dorset patients) and SCAS (Hampshire patients) are now the sole providers of non-urgent patient transport now the use of private transport providers during the pandemic has ended.
E-zec is working hard to increase its capacity and is providing extra discharge vehicles with more flexible hours. However, lead times from booking to discharge will substantially increase for many patients - in some cases up to five or six hours for transport booked on the same day as discharge. It's essential that transport is booked as soon as possible to avoid discharge delays.
Find out more here and contact Mevalyn Cross, patient transport manager, on ext. 6090 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you have any questions.
Reporting a violent or aggressive incident at work – a short survey
If you have been a target of violence or aggression here at work – either physically or verbally – we encourage you to always report this via Datix/LERN. You should also report this to your manager so that colleagues are aware and you can be supported.
As a trust, we have a commitment to ensure the safety of all our colleagues. We believe that not all attacks are being reported through Datix/LERN so for a trial period we have set up this survey to help us to work out trends so we can help protect everyone.
Please complete this short survey to help us plan.

It's Biomedical Science Day on Thursday
