Looking after each other in the hot weather
A level 3 (amber) heat alert remains in place with temperatures continuing to stay warm over the next week. In the heat, it is important to keep an eye on each other and encourage each other to stay hydrated. Please ensure you take your breaks and find somewhere cool if you can and stay hydrated.
It is essential that we ensure patients are kept cool and hydrated. Remember to monitor temperatures on wards and identify those sickest patients who may need to move to somewhere cooler.
Gov.uk has put together some tips on staying cool in the heat here and you can view our trust heat wave plan here.

Poole: UHD to take over running key worker accommodation
On 1 September, the trust will become responsible for the day-to-day operations of key worker accommodation at Poole as the current arrangements through the Sovereign Housing Association come to an end.
The trust has been working with Sovereign on this change for some time, which allows them to focus on providing affordable homes for people in general housing need and equally allowing UHD to take further responsibility for the housing of our staff, alongside our existing key worker accommodation in Bournemouth.
Current residents have been informed and the facilities team are working with Sovereign to continue to provide timely information up to the date of transfer. We are pleased to report that the current Poole Hospital-based Sovereign team are in the process of transferring their employment to the Trust, so that they can continue to support residents as before.
