Welcome to the Acute Medical Unit, we look after patients who are admitted for urgent investigation or care by their GP, an outpatient clinic or the Emergency Department.

Our team
As a team, we are led by Tash Kelly, Gemma Bishop and James Glen, who are supported by an experienced team of deputy sisters and charge nurses.
Visiting times
Visiting hours: 11am-10pm

If you would like to call, it is better to do so after 11am when the doctors will have finished their ward round. Please ring the hospital switchboard on 01202 303626 in the first instance to check where your relative or friend is located within the hospital, as patients often move out of AMU relatively quickly.
Meal times
Our meal times are 12-1pm and 5-6pm. If you would like someone visiting to support you during meal times, please discuss this with the nurse in charge.
