Coronary Care Unit

The coronary care unit specialises in patients with acute cardiac problems, or patients with medical problems requiring high intervention. The unit offers inpatient beds, along with two procedure areas and a pacing theatre. Patients have individual access to Patientline television and telephone devices.

Useful ward information:

  • Mobile phone usage is permitted with permission from the ward sister.
  • Flowers are not permitted.
  • There are no facilities for carers or family members to stay

Please note that visiting is restricted to two visitors per patient at a time.

Please do not visit if you have had any diarrhoea or sickness in the last 72 hours, or have cough/cold symptoms.

How to find us:From the dome entrance, take the turning marked pharmacy, then continue along the corridor before turning right (signposted CT). Continue along this corridor until you reach a stairwell/lift next to the Dolphin restaurant. Take the stairs or lift to level two.

From the Longfleet Rd entrance, walk straight ahead - use the stairs or lift to level two.

Discharge home information:The majority of patients are discharged home by 10am. Patients will need to arrange their own transport home, or alternatively can choose to pay for hospital transport.
