Why Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way of helping the local community and gives a sense of well- being. It is an opportunity to meet and help a wide range of people and increase social interaction. For those thinking of returning to work or have a career change it is an opportunity to observe all the different staff roles and a great way of finding out if the NHS is for you. We encourage our volunteers to undertake the HEE Certificate in Volunteering which is on line learning that can be undertaken at home.

You don’t need previous experience but you must be a kind and caring person as the majority of roles are face to face with the general public and show real commitment. Volunteers need to have a flexible approach to ensure we give the best service to our patients and staff where it is needed the most. We ask that volunteers provide at least 3 hours a week and commit to volunteering for at 6 months.
