Christchurch Pharmacy

The Hospital Pharmacy is only available to in-patients, so the pharmacy team spend most of their time on the Macmillan Unit working with patients, doctors and nurses to make sure that the appropriate medication and advice are available.

Opening hours

Monday – Friday: 9.00am – 1.00pm, 1.30pm – 4.30pm

For Christchurch Hospital outpatients

For medication that must be started urgently there are ready labelled packs that can be supplied from the clinics at Christchurch Hospital.

Patients can take their Christchurch outpatient prescription to Boots in the main entrance at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. It will be dispensed and they do not have to pay for parking there or

Patients can place their Christchurch outpatient prescription in the drop-box at Christchurch Hospital shown below. The prescriptions are collected twice a day and dispensed in the Boots pharmacy at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. The patient can then collect their medication the following afternoon from the Boots pharmacy that they have chosen (in 18 stores).

For frail or palliative patients the prescriber can request that Boots deliver to the patient's home.

Patients Medicines

When you visit our Hospitals, please bring all your medicines with you, where possible in their original containers. When you go home the Hospital Pharmacy will return the medicines you need and supply any new treatment prescribed.
