The Stroke Unit at Royal Bournemouth Hospital is a purpose built 36 bedded unit that provides high dependency, acute and rehabilitation specialist stroke care. Our aim is to provide the highest standard of patient centred care to people who have had a stroke.

Stroke care is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team. This includes doctors, nurses, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians, social workers, orthoptists, clinical psychologist, community stroke team and the stroke research team.

Working closely as a multidisciplinary team, we will involve you and your relatives and friends as appropriate throughout your stay, from admission to arrangement of any necessary follow-up services.
