University Hospitals Dorset offer Cardiac Rehabilitation to the local population of Bournemouth, Poole and Surrounding areas. The Cardiac Rehabilitation team are British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) certified. Poole Cardiac Rehabilitation offer exercise classes on site at Poole Hospital, and a variety of local leisure and community centres. Working closely with Poole Heart Support Group who offer ongoing exercise and social activities.

Bournemouth Cardiac Rehabilitation was established in 1989 and under the dedicated guidance of Dr Adrian Rozkovec it has grown to be one of the busiest services in the UK. The NHS team have the privilege of access to Bournemouth Heart Club; a purpose built facility with two gyms in the grounds of Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Bournemouth Heart Club is a charity founded by the initial cardiac rehabilitation programme participants and continues to thrive, offering over 40 classes a week for heart patients.

The NHS funded Cardiac Rehabilitation programme is offered to patients following heart surgery such as percutaneous coronary intervention (coronary stenting), coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgery and heart transplant surgery. It is also offered to patients following a heart attack or diagnosis of heart failure.
