Eye Unit

Here at the Eye Unit, we are committed to providing an excellent local service to the residents of Dorset and West Hampshire, in the prevention and treatment of disorders of the eye.

Originally founded in 1887 and was known as The Westbourne Eye Hospital, in April 2000 the service was moved to a purpose built new site at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital. In addition to this, we provide clinics and appointments at a number of other local sites.
