Self-help

Many of our patients experience big improvements from small changes.

Please watch our short information links below to help you find out more about the small changes that can help bladder, bowel and pelvic organ prolapse symptoms. They are all about 10 minutes long.

You can watch them in any order but we recommend that you start with the Introduction section first. (Called Common Pelvic Floor Problems – Important Introduction)

You may experience some differences in the sound quality of each of the sections at the moment. We are working hard to address this, but we were keen to be able to get these online as soon as possible in the advent of Covid-19. We hope that it does not significantly affect your viewing experience, but as always we do appreciate any feedback.

We would appreciate your anonymous feedback so we can improve our future care by learning from our patients. This is a survey of 5 short questions and most patients find that it typically takes 1-2 minutes to fill in. Please click here if you would like to provide some feedback.

Many patients want to find out information for themselves. In order to help you to start to self-manage your symptoms, please have a look at our leaflet and links section below.

It is worth consulting your GP or physiotherapist to find out which of the leaflets is appropriate for you. Women's and Men's Health clinical specialist staff have researched the evidence for exercise programmes and patient information leaflets to benefit our patients. Please read this before participating in exercises without prior health professional advice.
