Attend Anywhere is a secure web-based video platform that allows you to have a consultation from your home or own private space.
It makes life easier for you by helping you reduce the need to travel to hospital for appointments, saving you money and time.
It is for patients with pre-arranged appointment times only. Patients due for appointments that could done by video consultation will be invited to do so.
You can use Attend Anywhere on a PC, Mac or an iOS/Android device, using a Google Chrome (for PC/Mac/all mobile devices)/Apple Safari (for Macs and iOS devices) browser. Attend Anywhere will not work on Internet Explorer. Download Google Chrome or Apple Safari for free. For more information about technical requirements, please click here. For answers to frequently asked questions, please click here.
Five minutes before your appointment time, click on the relevant service below. You will be taken through a series of steps to ensure that your equipment is set up correctly. Once the steps have been completed, you will be prompted to enter your name and telephone number and accept the terms and conditions. This information is not stored beyond the length of the video call.
Once these steps have been followed, click on the 'Start Call' button and you will enter the waiting room until your consultation begins. You will see yourself on the video and hear music. The waiting room is private and you will not see other patients.
When the consultation is ready to begin, your image will shrink and move to the corner of the screen and you will see your clinician. The video call is free (except your internet usage charge) and data is not used whilst you are in the waiting room.

DrDoctor - providing virtual (video) consultations from 1 April 2024
We will be working with DrDoctor to offer video consultations from 1 April 2024. This will continue to offer you a safe and easy alternative to in-person appointments with the ability to see your clinician from the comfort of your own home.
DrDoctor is a digital health company modernising how hospitals and patients communicate. They provide a convenient way for patients to manage appointments while reducing costs, saving time, and developing better overall experiences for patients.
What to expect?
We’ll send you a text message a few hours before your appointment, simply click this to join your video consultation and speak with your clinician.
By using video consultations, you’ll save time, money and the difficulty of getting to hospital. Please note that this clinic is only for patients who have been invited to attend an online appointment.
How do virtual consultations via DrDoctor work?
We’ll send you a text message or email with the details of your video appointment, including the date and time.
Follow the link in your message to log in and view the details of your appointment, which you can also add to your personal calendar.
For further details, please see our frequently asked questions here and visit DrDoctor here.
What do I need to be able to use virtual consultations?
- A device with a camera and speaker (these are usually built into your smartphone, tablet, or laptop)
- Good connection to the internet. We recommend using Wi-Fi where possible which may have a better connection and will not use your mobile data allowance
- A quiet, well-lit room where you will not be disturbed. If you are by a bright light, like a window, sit so the light is on your face not behind you.
- A table or surface to prop your device on, so your camera stays steady during the call.
