Poole
Dr. Isabel Smith, consultant anaesthetist and medical director for strategy and transformation at University Hospitals Dorset, gives an insight into the development of Poole Hospital’s new theatres complex. The project is part of an overall £250m reorganisation of NHS services across Dorset which will see Poole Hospital become the main centre for planned treatment in east Dorset, whilst at the same time the Royal Bournemouth Hospital becoming the centre for emergency care. The construction work begins in November 2020 with overall completion planned for early 2023.

The project is part of an overall £250m reorganisation of NHS services across Dorset which will see Royal Bournemouth Hospital becoming the centre for emergency care, whilst at the same time, Poole Hospital becoming the main centre for planned treatment in east Dorset. The construction work begins in early 2021 with overall completion planned for late 2024.
