At University Hospitals Dorset (UHD), we provide excellent clinical care and support services for patients suffering from various kinds of cancer.

For patients under the care of HODU (Jigsaw) and Ward 11

Following current advice from the government, we advise anyone on active treatment or has a haematology disorder to self-isolate.

We are reviewing all appointments and will be in contact with you with any changes we make.

Most, but not all, will be moved to telephone appointments.

Treatments will continue unless otherwise advised.

We are making changes daily. If you are concerned about any appointment changes, please phone HODU on 0300 019 4774 for advice.

If you are experiencing symptoms that require emergency attention, please use the hotline number 0300 019 4302.

The cancer services multi-disciplinary teams work across the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch NHS Foundation Trust and Poole NHS Foundation Trust.

We understand that a cancer diagnosis and treatment is a difficult and worrying time. That's why we work to make your healthcare experience as simple, smooth and well-coordinated as possible.

We know that communication is especially important to our patients. So, you will be welcomed to our services by receptionists and administrative staff who are warm, friendly and sensitive to your needs.

As a patient, you need to know that your care is as good as it can be. We will aim to keep you involved and informed at every stage of your care pathway, and be committed to providing the very best treatments and technologies to care for you.

We provide comprehensive support services for patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, as well as support for their carers and families.

Throughout your treatment with us, you will receive a range of information leaflets and other materials that will help to explain the treatments and procedures that you will undergo. You will be fully supported by your clinical nurse specialist (Key Worker) and medical team who will provide you with individualized information about your treatment. Your clinical team will also advise you on the additional support available in your local area such as support groups and charities.
