Inpatients

We have an excellent Inpatient multi-disciplinary diabetes team consisting of nurses, doctors and a pharmacist and won the National patient safety award in 2013. We aim to support inpatients with diabetes and also provide training and education for ward staff and doctors.

We will see anyone in the hospital with diabetes who have a specific problem with the management of their diabetes during their hospital stay. It is common whilst people are in hospital to find that their diabetes may be less easy to control and manage. This sometimes can require temporary or long term changes in treatment. These changes are reviewed regularly and close follow up takes place on discharge.
