Equality, diversity and inclusion
Staff Networks - Diverse Ethnicity Network
Welcome to the Diverse Ethnicity Network (DEN)
The Diverse Ethnicity Network provides a forum for staff to talk confidentially about their work experiences, identify and respond to matters that affect ethnically diverse staff and contribute to improving the work experience of ethnically diverse colleagues.
Why do we have a Diverse Ethnicity Network?
Data from our 2022 NHS Staff Survey has highlighted some concerning issues about the work experience ethnically diverse colleagues receive. The data tells us that ethnically diverse staff are more likely to experience harassment, bullying or abuse from patients relatives or public than white staff. This is also the same for discrimination at work from either their manager, their team leader or colleagues.
The network aims to tackle these concerns to improve the work experience for all.
Who can be part of the network and attend meetings?
All staff committed to promoting inclusion, equality and diversity are invited to attend.
